IPL 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made headlines with their reported retentions ahead of the mega auction.

As per a report by ESPNcricinfo, SRH are willing to break the bank to retain their performers from IPL 2024.

The highest retention is reportedly set to be South African wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klaasen, and not captain Pat Cummins.

The report states that Klaasen will be retained for a whopping Rs 23 cr, Rs 5 cr more than the highest retention slot of Rs 18 cr.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins is set to be retained for Rs 18 cr, a little less than the amount he got paid for IPL 2024.

Abhishek Sharma is SRH's third preferred retention, at Rs 14 cr.

SRH are also reportedly likely to keep hold of marauding Australian batter Travis Head and newly-capped India all-rounde Nitish Kumar Reddy.

If SRH's total retention price goes beyond Rs 75 cr, any additional amount will be deducted from their auction purse.
