ICC Give "Unsatisfactory" Verdict To This Indian Venue

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have given their verdict on the pitches used during India's home series vs Bangladesh and New Zealand.

ICC rate pitches and outfields on the following scale: Very Good, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, Below Average, Poor and Unfit.

Only one Test venue got a 'Very Good' in both outfield and pitch. That was the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, which hosted the 1st IND vs BAN Test.

The harshest verdict was given to the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. While the pitch was told 'Satisfactory', the outfield was rated 'Unsatisfactory'.

Two entire days of play were washed out in Kanpur, which hosted the 2nd IND vs BAN Test due to a slow drying on a wet outfield.

Meanwhile, the pitches used in Pakistan for their three Tests vs England were deemed 'Satisfactory' by the ICC.

The pitches in Pakistan's Multan and Rawalpindi had received widespread criticism for being rank turners and heavily assisting spinners.
