How Bronze-Medallist Aman Lost 4.6kg In 10 Hours

Aman Sehrawat became India's youngest athlete to win a medal at Olympics, clinching bronze in Men's 57 kg wrestling.

The 21-year-old was weighing 61.5 kg on Thursday after his semi-final defeat to eventual champion Rei Higuchi.

However, on the second day of weigh-in, Aman accomplished the mission, losing 4.6 kgs to be eligible for the fight at 56.9 kg.

So, how did he do it? Aman began his "mission" with a one-and-a-half-hour mat session, followed by a one-hour of hot-bath.

Around 12:30 AM local time, Aman then had a non-stop one-hour run on the treadmill.

Aman was then given a 30-minute break, followed by five sessions of 5-minute sauna bath.

By the end of the last session, Aman was still weighing 900g more, and was asked to do light jogging.

In between these sessions, Aman was given lukewarm water with lemon and honey and a bit of coffee to drink. He did not sleep after that.
