Team Pakistan had a forgettable outing in T20 World Cup 2024 as Babar Azam and co were knocked out in the group stage.

Starting their campaign with a humiliating defeat against USA, Pakistan lost their second game against arch-rivals India.

With a seven-wicket victory against Canada, Pakistan kept their Super 8s hope alive.

However, the cancellation of USA vs Ireland's game due to rain, shattered Pakistan's hopes and they were eliminated.

With the group stage exit, Babar Azam became the first captain, under whom Pakistan got eliminated in the 1st round of a T20 World Cup.

So far, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, and Babar have captained Pakistan in the T20 World Cups.

Shoaib and Younis guided Pakistan into the final in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Under Younis, Pakistan also lifted the title in 2009.

Afridi and Hafeez led Pakistan to semi-finals in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

Under Babar's captaincy, Pakistan reached semis in 2021 and final in 2022. However, he failed to take his team ahead in the 2024 edition.
