Asia Cup Handshake Row: Who Was At Fault?

The ICC rejected Pakistan's demand to remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the panel of officials for the ongoing Asia Cup.

This demand was made by the PCB as they held Pycroft responsible for the team's insult, following the 'no-handshake' row against India.

PCB had filed a complaint with the ICC alleging that Pycroft asked captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with India captain Suryakumar Yadav.

After the match, India did not exchange handshakes with Pakistan as a mark of respect for the Pahalgam terror attack victims and their families.

It is reliably learnt that the situation arose due to PCB's Director of Cricket Operations Usman Walha.

According to PTI sources, it was Walha's duty to inform Salman about the "No Handshake" policy but he didn't do so.

As a result, Walha was suspended from his duties by PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the current chairman of the Asian Cricket Council.
