Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh and entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024, for the first time in the history of the tournament.

Batting first, Afghanistan only managed to post a total of 115/5 with Rahmanullah Gurbaz being the top-scorer with 43 runs.

Later, the rain interrupted the match and Bangladesh got a revised target of 114 in 19 overs.

However, the Afghan bowlers bounced back in style and bundled out Bangladesh for 105 and sealed the semi-finals spot.

For Afghanistan, Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan were star bowlers with their respective four-wicket hauls.

With Afghanistan's qualification, 2021 champions Australia got knocked out from the race.

Earlier in the tournament, Afghanistan also stunned everyone with their memorable wins against teams like New Zealand and Australia.
