2 Super Overs: SA Beat Afg In T20 World Cup Thriller


South Africa overcame Afghanistan in dramatic fashion in the T20 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday, in a match with two Super Overs.

During the regular game, Kagiso Rabada's two no-balls in the final over nearly saw Afghanistan chase 13, but a run-out took the match to a Super Over.

Afghanistan smacked 17 in the first Super Over, thanks to two boundaries and a six by Azmatullah Omarzai.

However, SA were able to force another Super Over as Tristan Stubbs smashed a six on the final ball to level the scores.

In the second Super Over, Stubbs hammered one six and David Miller two as SA put up 24.

Afghanistan were 0/1 after the first two balls, but Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed three straight sixes to keep hopes alive.

However, Gurbaz departed on the final ball of the second Super Over, handing SA one of the most dramatic wins in T20 World Cup history.
