The Indian challenge at the Australian Open Junior tennis championship came to an end after Somdev Varman lost 0-6, 2-6 to Britain's Guy Thomas in the second round of the boys singles in Melbourne today. Varman had fought bravely to win the first round 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 against Rick Schmidt of Germany. Sixteen-year-old Karan Rastogi yesterday lost out 4-6, 5-7 to fourth-ranked Mathieu Montcourt of France in the second round. (PTI)
