Tennis is one sport that is growing in India and Sania Mirza's achievements have given it just the boost it needs. The 18-year-old is the new idol for most upcoming tennis players. But Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi are also on their list. Some of these budding players were in Bangalore battling it out for a chance to represent the country in the Nike Junior Tour International Masters in France. "It was very tough, especially the final. I had to play really well to win. My ground strokes are my strong point," said Sudava Sitaram, Boys under-14 winner. To encourage these young players to make that long jump from national to international level play, Anju Bobby George was present at the occasion to hand out the prizes. With Sania Mirza having shown what is possible, the dream of these young Indian stars will be to play, not just before an almost empty stadium but also before a crowded centre court in a grand slam.
