Valencia: French Open champion Albert Costa defeated Ivan Ljubicic 6-3, 6-4 and Alex Corretja downed Mario Ancic 7-5, 6-3 on Sunday to give Spain a 5-0 sweep over Croatia in the Davis Cup quarterfinals. The matches were meaningless because Spain had clinched the tie on Saturday, and Ljubicic came out listless against Costa, who substituted for Juan Carlos Ferrero. Costa broke Ljubicic's first service games of each set, and the Croat's confidence didn't recover. Corretja's experience helped him prevail over the 19-year-old Ancic, who jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first set only to see the Spaniard take over. Spain has yet to lose a match in this year's Davis Cup. It beat Belgium 5-0 in the first round in Seville in February. Spain will face Argentina in the semifinals. (AP)
