Sharapova to face Henin-Hardenne

Maria Sharapova had little trouble advancing to the quarter finals with a straight sets win over Spaniard Nuria Llagostera Vives.

Maria Sharapova had little trouble advancing to the quarter finals with a straight sets win over Spaniard Nuria Llagostera Vives. The Wimbledon champion whose match had been suspended on Sunday because of rain came out and won three games in a row for a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Tough fight Former French Open champion Justine Henin-Hardenne was in a tough fight with Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia. US open champion Kuznetsova was not going to give in without a fight, she broke back Henin and took the set to a tie breaker. The 6th seed showed the power game that the Russian girls have now become famous for. However Justine knows what it takes to win at Roland Garros and despite being down in the tie-breaker the 10th seed went on to win it, the ever reliable backhand getting her out of trouble. Henin defeats Kuznetsova Kuznetsova finally managed to control her ground strokes in the second set as the Russian leveled the match winning the set 6-4. The third set sea sawed with Kuznetsova serving for the match, but Henin came back to break her and go onto to win the match in three sets. She now faces Sharapova in the last eight.
