Sania Mirza has crashed out of the Sony Ericsson International at Bangalore.

Sania Mirza has crashed out of the Sony Ericsson International at Bangalore. Sania lost in three sets to Russia's Yaroslava Shvedova who is ranked 97 places below her. Sania had struggled throughout the tournament and failed to find any form in the match, which lasted just over two hours. After losing the first set, Shvedova fought back to win 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 and advance to the semi-finals. Sania, however, still has a chance to win some silverware in the doubles event.
