Jakarta:

Continuing her dream run, teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza defeated Silawan Choptang of Thailand 6-1, 6-3 to enter the semifinals of the second $10,000 ITF tournament at Jakarta today. Sania played a high class game to brush aside the meek challenge of Choptang as the match ended up in a one sided affair, paving way for Sania to enter the last four stage. The Hyderabad player started off in great style, packing more power into her serves and ground strokes to baffle her opponent by taking a thumping 5-0 lead. Choptang just about managed to hold serve for the first time in the match before Sania served out the first set. The Thai girl put up a brave fight and at one stage led 3-2, but Sania improved her game by a few notches to win the next four games in a row with some flowing cross court shots on either flank to win the match. She will meet local girl Montinee Tangphong in the semifinals. Sania's juggernaut rolled on in the doubles too as she and partner Rushmi Chakravarthi entered the last four stage defeating Eny Sulistyowati and Mimma Chernovita of Indonesia 6-2, 6-1. (PTI)
