New Delhi: Sania Mirza continued her strong showing in the women's doubles at the US Open as she and her partner Liesel Huber moved into the third round on Sunday. The Indian number one and her South African partner Liesel Huber dispatched Stephanie Cohen-Aloro and Maria Sanchez in straight sets 6-0, 6-3. The 11th seeds will now take on Kveta Peschke and Francesca Schiavone in the third round. Schiavone had earlier defeated Mirza in the second round of the singles event. In the men's doubles, India's Leander Paes and Czech partner Martin Damm also made it to the third round. The sixth seeded Indo-Czech pair beat Austria's Alexander Peya and German Bjorn Phau 6-3, 7-6 in the second round. However, it was a disappointing day for the Indian juniors with Rupesh Roy and Sanam Singh being knocked out of the first round of the junior boy's singles event.
