New Delhi:

Back from her Federation Cup campaign at Seoul, tennis sensation Sania Mirza was in New Delhi on Wednesday for the launch of a sports wear by Lotto. Sania, a brand ambassador of the company, has dropped three spots to number 40 in the latest WTA rankings. The Hyderabadi player has become the first Indian since Ramesh Krishnan to be ranked inside the top 50 players in the world. After a remarkable season last year when she became the first Indian woman to win a Tour title and break into the top-50 in world rankings, Sania has yet to reach a quarterfinal after 23 weeks of playing on the women's circuit. And while she has failed to string together a few wins in the singles, her performance in the doubles has been more than satisfying. The title triumph at Bangalore and a final appearance at Amelia Island, on both the occasions with Liezel Huber of South Africa, has seen her jump to 39 in doubles rankings. That has given rise to more expectations from her at the Grand Slams. (With PTI inputs)
