Sania Mirza had better doubles luck advancing to the second round of the Kremlin Cup.

Sania and her Swiss partner Patty Schnyder beat Vera Dushevina of Russia and Tatiana Perebiyinis of Ukraine by 6-1, 6-3.

In the second round the pair will face another top seeded pair of Cara Black and Liezel Huber.

In the singles, it was deja vu for Sania as she lost her first round match to Gisela Dulko.

This is the third straight time that the Argentinian has beaten the Indian.

Dulko, who at 41 is ranked 12 places below Sania, took just over an hour to beat her 6-3 6-4.

Sania was coming off a quarterfinal appearance at the Japan Open, but was done in by her service, which included 9 double faults.
