Rome:
Dinara Safina advanced to the third round of the Italian Open on Wednesday, beating Kaia Kanepi 7-6 (5), 6-2. The 2006 finalist struggled with her consistency, but was helped by her Estonian opponent's 10 double faults.

"I was very nervous at the beginning. I couldn't find my game," the sixth-seeded Safina said.
