Roddick, Safin enter round 3

Top seed Andy Roddick and sixth seed Marat Safin are through to the third round of the ATP Tour's Paris Masters Series event.

Top seed Andy Roddick and sixth seed Marat Safin are through to the third round of the ATP Tour's Paris Masters Series event. Roddick destroyed Armenia's Sargis Sargsian 6-2, 6-2 whilst Safin struggled to get past big-serving Croatian Ivan Ljubicic. Safin eventually won in three sets, 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 7-5 - the two seeded players were joined in the next round by Max Mirnyi of Belarus, who beat Chile's Fernando Gonzalez 7-6 (10-8), 6-3. (AP)
