St. Poelten, Austria:
Top-seeded Andy Roddick outlasted Dutchman Richard Krajicek 7-5, 6-1 to advance to the Raiffeisen Grand Prix semifinals on Thursday. Roddick wasted a 4-1 lead in the first set, but the fightback drained the Dutchman. The American then broke the former Wimbledon champion in the fourth game of the second from 40-0 up, which marked the turning point. "Richard is a champion, and I knew it was going to be a very tough match," Roddick said. "He has beaten a couple of my friends and he has been around forever. But I played well". In the semifinals, Roddick will take on David Sanchez, and Nikolay Davydenko will play Martin Verkerk. Eighth-seeded Sanchez eased past Mario Ancic of Croatia 6-1, 6-4, sixth-seeded Davydenko bounced Anthony Dupuis of France 7-5, 6-1, and Verkerk ousted last year's semifinalist, Flavio Saretta of Brazil 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2).
