Prakash Amritraj advanced to the second round of the ATP Challenger event in Dallas after defeating Michael Yani of the host nation 6-3, 6-2.

Prakash Amritraj advanced to the second round of the $50,000 ATP Challenger event in Dallas, US, after defeating Michael Yani of the host nation 6-3, 6-2 in the opening round.

He will next face sixth-seed Brazilian Ricardo Mello, who defeated wild card entrant Chasse Buchanan 6-1, 6-3 in the first round of the hard court event.

In the doubles competition, the fourth-seeded Indian pair of Ashutosh Singh and Japanese Hiroki Kondo sailed into the quarter-finals defeating Ramon Delgado of Paraguay and Ricardo Mello 6-2, 6-3 in the first round.
