India's Davis Cup star Leander Paes and his Czech partner David Rikl have bowed out of the $2.4 million ATP Tennis Masters in Indian Wells, California, with a straight set defeat in the men's doubles semifinals. Paes and Rikl lost to the American pair Bob and Mike Bryan 3-6, 6-7 (6/8). The doubles title was won by South Africa's Wayne Ferreira and Russian Yevgeny Kafelnikov who defeated the Bryans 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the final on Saturday. Ferreira and Kafelnkiov had earlier beaten Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Australian Todd Woodbridge 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in the other semifinal. Paes-Rikl had defeated Mahesh Bhupathi-Tim Henman combine in a second round doubles match earlier in the tournament. (PTI)
