Mumbai: Tennis star Leander Paes is back home in India for the first time since winning the US Open doubles earlier this month. Paes arrived in Mumbai on Sunday night along with wife Rhea, and daughter Aiyanna. He will play at the $380,000 Kingfisher Airlines Open in Mumbai, which begins on Monday. Paes will pair up with Pakistan's Aisam Qureshi in the absence of his regular doubles partner Martin Damn. The seven-time Grand Slam Doubles Champion is currently ranked world no five in the doubles slot along-with Damn. Speaking about his visit, Paes said it is a long haul from his base in USA to Mumbai but it is well worth it, given that he is going to be playing in a tournament managed by Mahesh Bhupathi. "Mahesh is a great fellow athlete and a businessman and its great to play in your backyard and this will be my way to give respect to his effort," said the Indian Davis Cup captain. This years US Open doubles title was Paes' first Grand Slam title after parting ways with Bhupathi.
