Paes-Damm advance in doubles

Leander Paes and Martin Damm have advanced to the second round of the Men's Doubles at the Australian Open.

Leander Paes and Martin Damm have advanced to the second round of the Men's Doubles at the Australian Open. The fifth seeded pair of Paes and Damm beat the Serbian duo of Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Sania Mirza, who crashed out of the singlea€™s event, notched up a win in the womena€™s doubles with her partner Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain. The Indo-Spanish duo defeated Sandra Kloesel of Germany and Aravane Rezai of France 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the second round. India's Mahesh Bhupathi, pairing with Czech Radek Stepanek also won his doubles match. They defeated the French pair of Sebastien Grosjean and Olivier Patience 6-1, 6-7, 6-4.
