Top seed David Nalbandian of Argentina crashed out of the BA-CA Tennis trophy event in Vienna on Friday.

Vienna: Top seed David Nalbandian of Argentina crashed out of the BA-CA Tennis trophy event in Vienna on Friday. Nalbandian lost 7-6, 6-3 to Spanish former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero. Seventh seed Ferrero moves on to play the number three seed Radek Stepanek for a place in the final, after the Czech right hander put out defending champion Feliciano Lopez 7-6, 7-6. In the other half of the draw, Ivan Ljubicic progressed to the semis with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Fernando Gonzalez of Chile. Ljubicic will meet another Spaniard, Tommy Robredo, following the latter's 6-1, 6-1 win over Jean-Rene Lisnard of France. (AP)
