Cincinnati:

Australia's Lleyton Hewitt stormed into the final of the Cincinnati Masters with an impressive win over Tommy Robredo 6-3 6-2 on Saturday. Hewitt has looked in superb form in this Masters Series, not having dropped a set on the way to this semi-final. Saturday was no exception as the number ten seed took the next step towards his first ATP title since February. The twenty-three year-old made the first break in the seventh game by getting the better of a forehand to forehand exchange. The Australian then served for the first set in the most crushing manner, finishing it off with a perfectly delayed forehand top-spin lob. In the second set it was more of the same, Hewitt made the killer break in the fifth game of the second set, relentlessly harrying and probing from the baseline and provoking Robredo into an over-ambitious faded drive on break point. This mistake punctured Robredo's morale. Hewitt capitalised, winning 12 of the next 13 rallies and the match to move within one victory of his first title since triumphing indoors in Rotterdam in February. "Yes, I feel like I have got better and better as the weeks have gone on. I haven't had an easy draw early in the tournament. But I have come through some big names and I felt like I played pretty good tennis out there today. I served extremely well and I took opportunities on his service game when I can," said Hewitt. Hewitt will now face either the defending champion Andy Roddick or the number 11 seed Andre Agassi. (AP)
