Monte Carlo:

Number 10 seed Andy Roddick was beaten 6-3, 6-2 by Germany's fifth-seeded Tommy Haas in the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Thursday. It was a fiery match, with Roddick losing his temper on several disputed line calls. Roddick later felt that even if the line calls had gone his way, it probably wouldn't have changed the final outcome of the match. Meanwhile, Sebastien Grosjean of France overcame injury to beat Czech Republic's Jiri Novak 6-1, 7-6. Number six seed, Marat Safin, also progressed at the expense of David Nalbandian of Argentina, 6-1, 6-7, 6-2.
