Juan Carlos Ferrero's hopes of finishing the year on top were dealt a blow with a victory for David Nalbandian at the Masters Cup in Houston.

Juan Carlos Ferrero's hopes of finishing the year on top of the world rankings were dealt a blow with a deserved victory for David Nalbandian at the Masters Cup in Houston on Monday (9 November). Argentine Nalbandian was always in control as he earned a convincing 6-3 6-1 win over the world number two. Ferrero now faces tricky matches against Andre Agassi and Roger Federer if he is to progress and overtake Andy Roddick as world number one. (AP)
