Federer tops Aus Open seedings

Australian Open seedings have been announced.

Melbourne:

Australian Open seedings have been announced with World No.1 Roger Federer and Lindsay Davenport topping the men's and women's lists respectively. Seeded second in the men's draw is Andy Roddick with four singles titles in 2004. Australia's Lleyton Hewitt is seeded third. In the women's draw, Amelie Mauresmo is seeded second. The Russian domination continues with as many as seven players from the country being seeded. Former Australian Open champion Serena Williams is back again after a year's absence. She is seeded seven. Following her in the seedings is sister Venus Williams, the runner-up here the same year.
