Upsets continued on the second day of the US Open. Twelfth seed Tim Henman lost his first round match to Fernando Verdasco 64, 6-2, 6-2. The Briton had been troubled by a back injury in the lead-up to the tournament. Defending champion Roger Federer beat Ivo Minar 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. The match lasted just over an hour and the Swiss player now has an incredible 65 wins out of 68 matches this year.
