Marseille: Swiss player Roger Federer advanced to the semifinals of the Open 13 with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win on Friday over Raemon Sluiter of the Netherlands. Top-seeded Federer is the only seeded player still in the running at the Marseille tournament. After struggling to win, Federer said he was starting to feel tired after playing in the Davis Cup in Switzerland last week. On Saturday, Federer, ranked sixth, will play the winner of a match between Karol Kucera of Slovakia and Belgium's Olivier Rochus. France's Nicolas Escude and Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden will also face off in the semifinals on Saturday. On Friday, Escude defeated countryman Rodolphe Cadart 7-5, 6-3. Bjorkman beat Dominik Hrbaty of Slovakia, 7-6 (7), 6-4. (AP)
