The Frenchman broke three times to easily win the second set.
Djokovic led 3-0 in the third set and broke again in the sixth game before serving out the match.
The fifth-ranked Djokovic has also won at Adelaide, Australia, and Key Biscayne, Florida, this year.
"I had some luck in the first set and in the second what happened to me is inexcusable. I couldn't take him on, but I found energy to recover in the third," Djokovic said. "This title will bring me more motivation to continue playing like this until (the French Open)."
It was Gasquet's first final of the year after having won three titles in 2006.

Azarenka rallied, breaking the German qualifier twice over the next six games before holding for a 40-15 advantage in the 10th game.
Arn pushed it to deuce then saved match point for the third time before the players exchanged breaks to take it to the tiebreaker.
