Cincinnati Open: Mirza, Mattek win doubles title

Sania Mirza has gone on to win the doubles Championship, along with her American partner Bethamie Mattek.

After Sania Mirza was knocked out of the singles draw of the Cincinnati Open, she has gone on to win the doubles Championship, along with her American partner Bethamie Mattek.

The Hyderabad hurricane continued her good form on the hard court in the 1st round of Wimbledon with her Israeli partner Shahar Peer.

Mirza and Mattek, top seeds at the tournament downed the unseeded pair Alina Jikova of Russia and Tatiana Poutchek of Belarus in straight sets 7-6, 7-5 to win the doubles crown.

Sania hasn't had a great run of late, being knocked out in the 2nd round of the singles draw of Wimbledon. She was out of action for a prolonged period before that following a knee injury.
