Bhupathi-Mirnyi reach second round

Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi won their first round match against James Auckland and Lee Childs in the men's doubles event of Wimbledon.

Wimbledon:

India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Max Mirnyi of Belorussia moved into the second round of the men's doubles event of Wimbledon tennis championships with a comfortable straight sets victory against the British pair of James Auckland and Lee Childs. Bhupathi and Mirnyi, the top seeds, won 6-4, 6-3 to set up a second round clash with Jiri Novak and Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic. Novak and Stepanek beat the combination of Amir Hadad of Israel and Aisam-ul Haq Qureshi of Pakistan 7-6 (7/5), 7-5, 7-5 in another first round duel. (PTI)
