Paris:
India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Russia's Elena Likhovtseva lost in straight sets in the mixed doubles final of the French Open in Paris on Friday. The second seeded pair of Bhupathi and Likhovtseva lost 6-3 6-4 to the third seeded team of Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond of the United States. It was 29-year-old Raymond's first Roland Garros title, having previously reached the mixed doubles final in 1997 and the ladies doubles final a year later. Bhupathi's loss ended India's hopes in the French Open, where Bhupathi and Leander Paes had won the men's doubles title in 1999 and 2001. In 1997, Bhupathi won the mixed doubles along with Rika Hiraki.Topics mentioned in this article
