Melbourne: Maria Sharapova will take on Serena Williams on Saturday in women's singles final at the Australian Open. Sharapova, the top seed, will be looking for her second grand slam title in a row after winning the US Open last September. Though the head to head between the two players is tied at two matches all, Williams won their last encounter, ironically also at the Australian Open. This has been a dream comeback for Serena Williams who could play only 16 matches last season because of a knee injury. A two-time Australian Open champion, she is already guaranteed a place in the top 20 just by virtue of reaching the final.
