Federer is now one win away from winning his 10th grand slam title. Andy Roddick had won just one of the previous 13 encounters against Roger Federer, dating back to 2003. He lost the last nine straight including three Grand Slam finals. Yet A-Rod believed that it wasn't statistics that held the key in the match-up at the Australian open semi-final. Unfortunately for him, Federer probably does believe in numbers as he thrashed the sixth seed in straight sets.
