Almagro, Ferrer set up final clash

Nicolas Almagro will play David Ferrer in the Swedish Open final on Sunday in an all-Spanish matchup.

Nicolas Almagro will play David Ferrer in the Swedish Open final on Sunday in an all-Spanish matchup.

In Saturday's semifinals, Almagro upset fourth-seeded Carlos Moya of Spain 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 and the second-seeded Ferrer routed Filippo Volandri of Italy 6-2, 6-1.

Ferrer broke Volandri's serve twice in the opening set and three times in the second.

After dropping the first set, Moya broke Almagro's serve in the second game of the second set and then broke again to lead 5-1.

In the third set, Almagro took a 4-1 lead after breaking Moya's serve in the second game.

Moya had his chances to come back. Behind 4-2, Moya missed three break points before Almagro finally held to 5-2. He broke Moya again to close out the match.

Moya, the 2002 champion, had not lost a set in his previous three matches in Bastad this week.
