Australia managed to salvage a draw with just one wicket remaining in a thrilling finish to the third Ashes Test on the fifth and final day at Old Trafford. Last-wicket pair of Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath survived the final four overs after captain Ricky Ponting's gritty knock of 156. England was within one wicket of a 2-1 series lead after Ponting gloved a catch to Geraint Jones off Steve Harmison's bowling on the last ball of the 94th over. Ponting had batted for 411 minutes and hit a six and 16 boundaries off 275 balls to keep Australia in the match. Andrew Flintoff took four key wickets and finished with 4-71.
