London:
Arsenal striker Thierry Henry launched an anti-racism campaign in London on Thursday in a bid to rid football of what he believes is a growing problem. Henry, who was joined at the launch by Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, said the campaign had been sparked by the racist incident involving Spanish national coach Luis Aragones. Aragones referred to Henry as "that black shit" as he attempted to motivate Jose Antonio Reyes, who plays with Henry at Arsenal. The incident was captured by Spanish television cameras. Henry insisted that he could "forgive, but never forget" Aragones's racist slur and revealed his disappointment at the lack of immediate action taken by the Spanish Football Association. Ferdinand and Henry both made it clear that they believe the issue of racism is less of a problem in English football. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
