Hyderabad:

With less than a week to go for the Beijing Olympics, the first time Olympian and India's badminton champion, Saina Nehwal is ready to take on the challenge.

Saina Nehwal is excited and understandably so. She has shuttled her way to gain a berth at the Beijing Olympics. She says it has been her dream to play for the Olympics and win a medal.

"It has always been a dream to play in the Olympics and win a medal. But since I have got into this at a young age, I just want to focus and give a good performance," says Nehwal.

In the past, Saina has succumbed to pressure in important matches, so for the big stage at Beijing she wants to forget everything else and focus on her game.

"I think am at the best level right now. I am more comfortable on the court, moving and my strokes have improved,'' she adds.

A climb up the rank ladder to world number 15 and improving fitness levels has given Saina all the confidence ahead of the Olympics. And while she is not promising any medals, she is confident of a great performance.
