Madrid:
The men finished 11th out of 12 teams in Monchengladbach last month, and now it looks as though the Indian women's hockey team might follow suit. The Indian eves went down by two goals to three in their fourth league match against Spain in Madrid. Spain went into the break two-one ahead, thanks to goals from Silvia Munoz and Pilar Sanchez, with Surinder Kaur scoring her fifth goal of the tournament for India. Saba Anjum added another in the second half, but that didn't prove to be enough as the Spaniards took full points from the game. India now have just one point from four matches, and will almost certainly have to play the 9th to 12th place classification matches.Topics mentioned in this article
