In a tragic incident, a teenaged hockey player Kuldip Horo, a sepoy of the Pioneer Corps training centre here, died after receiving an apparent fatal hit from a hockey stick in a goal mouth melee during a practice match here. Nineteen-year-old Horo, a promising player and hailing from Ranchi, fell down after apparently being hit by a hockey stick in a practice match against Army Supply Corps, Jalanadhar, yesterday, said PCTC Coach Williams Kanakaraj. It was not clear where he received the fatal hit, Kanakaraj said. Horo, who had no external injury, was rushed to Command hospital, where he died, he said. Post mortem had been conducted but details were still awaited. The body would be sent to Ranchi tomorrow, Kanakaraj said. (PTI)
