New Delhi:

The International Hockey Federation has moved the Champions Trophy hockey tournament from Lahore to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The November 3 to 11 tournament had to be shifted out of Pakistan in view of security threat in the region following terrorist attacks on Washington and New York. An official release said that both Australia and the Netherlands had bid to host the event but gave no reasons for preferring the latter. The tournament would be held in a newly built stadium with a seating capacity of 8000 which opened in August. An international coaching seminar to be held on the sidelines of the tournament has also been shifted to Rotterdam.
