Probables named for World Cup camp

The Indian Hockey Federation has called 31 probables for a coaching camp to be held in Chennai from January 4 to 25.

In the run-up to the preparations for the 10th World Cup scheduled in Kuala Lumpur from February 24 to March 9, 2002, the Indian Hockey Federation has called 31 probables for a coaching camp to be held in Chennai from January 4 to 25. The List: Goal Keepers: Jude Menzes (BPCL), Devesh Chauhan (IOC), Kamaldeep Singh (AI). Full Backs: Dilip Tirkey, Dinesh Nayak, Kanwaldeep Singh, Jugraj Singh, Lazuras Baria. Half Backs: Baljit Singh Saini, Arjun Halappa, S Thirumalvalavan, Bimal Lakra, Ignace Tirkey, Vikram Pillai, S S Gill, Bipin Fernandez, Viren Rasquinha. Forwards: Gagan Ajit Singh, Deepak Thakur, Prabhjot Singh, Tejbir Singh, Daljit Singh Dhillon, Baljit Singh Dhillon, Sabu Varkey, Dhanraj Pillay, Inderjit Singh.
