Pak series: Tirkey to captain hockey team

The Indian hockey team for the series against Pakistan was announced on Thursday.

The Indian hockey team for the series against Pakistan was announced on Thursday. While Dilip Tirkey has been named the captain of the 20-member squad, Gagan Ajit Singh and Viren Rasquina have been dropped. Rajendra Singh (Jr) has been retained as the coach. The training camp for the players will begin from Friday at Chandigarh. The six match series will commence on February 16. Squad: Goalkeepers: Bharath Kumar Chetri and Adrian D' Souza. Fullbacks: Dilip Tirkey, Kanwalpreet Singh, Harpal Singh, Raghunath, V S Vinay, Vikram Pillay, Ignace Tirkey, Prabodh Tirkey, Sandeep Singh. Forwards: Rajpal Singh, Didar Singh, Sardara Singh, Tushar Khandekar, Tejbir Singh, Arjun Halappa, Adam Sinclair, Shivender Singh and Hari Prasad.
