Pak hockey team denied Indian visa

Pakistan will not participate in the 17th All India Baba Faridkot Gold Hockey tournament after they were denied visa by the India High Commission.

Pakistan Hockey team will not participate in the 17th All India Baba Faridkot Gold Hockey tournament starting from Friday after they were denied visa by the India High Commission at Islamabad.

Vice-President of Baba Farid Hockey Club Parampal Singh, said on Thursday that he had received information from the Pakistan team manager regarding the denial of the Visa facilities.

The team was denied Visa by the India High Commission at Islamabad at the last moment in view of last Saturday's serial blasts in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, thirteen national level hockey teams, including the defending champion Rail coach factory, Kapurthala will be participating in the hockey tournament that gets underway at the Government Barjindera college Hockey stadium on Friday.
