India qualifies for 9th, 12th place playoffs

India have beaten last year's world cup silver medallists, Spain 3-0 to qualify for the playoffs for the 9th to the 12th places in the 10th Hockey World Cup.

India have beaten last year's world cup silver medallists, Spain 3-0 today to qualify for the playoffs for the 9th to the 12th places in the 10th Hockey World Cup. India will now play the winners of the Japan-New Zealand match. Today they scored through skipper Baljit Dhillon in the 6th minute and then from Jugraj Singh and Deepak Thakur. Dhanraj Pillay could not play after hurting his hip in the last match against Australia.
