India out of CWG men's hockey race

India failed to move into the semifinals despite beating South Africa 2-0 in their last match of men's hockey league at the 18th Commonwealth Games.

India failed to move into the semifinals despite beating South Africa 2-0 in their last match of men's hockey league at the 18th Commonwealth Games on Wednesday. Malaysia, who lost 5-6 to group leaders Pakistan in another league match today, made it to the last four stage. India and Malaysia were tied at seven points each, and the Malaysians reached the semis on the basis of having scored more number of goals than India. (PTI)
