Dhillon to leave for US

Veteran hockey player Baljit Singh Dhillon was granted visa for the United States here today and the striker would now join his teammates.

Veteran hockey player Baljit Singh Dhillon was granted visa for the United States here today and the striker would now join his teammates in Arizona in a couple of days. "Dhillon has been issued the visa," a US Embassy official said today. Dhillon, who missed the flight to USA yesterday after failing to procure the visa, would now leave tomorrow evening for US where he would take part in a 21-day training camp alongwith 25 other Olympic probables. "Dhillon will collect the visa tomorrow morning. His travel plans are being worked out but he would leave tomorrow evening," Anupam Ghulati, Media Manager of the Indian Hockey Federation said. "IHF President K P S Gill today requested the US embassy to grant Dhillon a visa. He gave a personal guarantee after which the visa was issued," he said. (PTI)
