Dhanraj, Jugraj in probables list for Athens Olympics

Dhanraj Pillay and Jugraj Singh are named in the 26-member hockey probables list for the forthcoming Athens Olympics.

Star forward Dhanraj Pillay and struggling-to-be fit penalty corner expert Jugraj Singh were today named in the 26-member hockey probables list for the forthcoming Athens Olympics. Announcing the list here, Indian Hockey Federation President K P S Gill said the probables would attend a few training camps - in the USA, Holland and Germany - besides playing in a couple of four nation tournaments in the build up to the mega event at Athens. Pillay's omission from the fitness camp at Barog, Himachal Pradesh, and a four-nation meet in Japan had created a lot of furore but curtains came down over the controversy when Gill said that the mercurial forward was being "preserved" for the Olympics. Probables Goalkeepers: Devesh Chauhan, Kamaldeep Singh, Adrian D'Souza. Defenders: Dilip Tirkey, Kanwalpreet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Jatinder Pal Singh, Jugraj Singh, William Xalxo, Harpal Singh. Midfielders: Viren Rasquinha, Vikram Pillay, Ignace Tirkey, Bimal Lakra, Vivek Gupta, Sunil Yadav. Forwards: Dhanraj Pillay, Baljit Singh Dhillon, Deepak Thakur, Prabhjot Singh, Gagan Ajit Singh, Arjun Halappa, Sandeep Michael, Adam Sinclair, Inderjeet Singh and Hari Prasad.
